Paintings: Representational and Abstract

We were children on this northern island,

surrounded by a womb of lake, 

in the tyranny of weather’s elements 

but imprinted with love and songs of Hope.

When we return

we see ourselves with time-filtered fondness.

We come here to the beginning of our life’s spiral

to seek what we think we lost

on that spiral’s outward stretch.

We come to deepen our roots

and strengthen the wings we grew here

on this northern island…

the first place we called Home.
